My current wagon had an driveshaft explode around 130k miles. Other than that, everything is original from 2007, including all four axles, transfer case, diffs, rear driveshaft, and transmission, transfer case and diff oil.
165K miles.
The other x-drive I had for a short time last year also had 166K miles, and all parts were original in the drivetrain.
I wouldn't make any assumptions about what was or wasn't completed, nor about what might be needed. The idea of going 165k miles with the 4 original axles on a BMW is totally reasonable, where on the toyota and nissan cars I've had over the years I would expect maybe 40k before they'd be needing replacement. So... that it is hard to do isn't necessarily a big deal if you only have to do one once every 200 or 300k miles
