Thanks for the replies, all! Got them mounted today.

Final setup is:
FRONT
18x9 with 245/40R18
REAR
18x9.5 with 265/35R18
Continental Extremecontact DW all around

I've only had them on for a few hours, but here are my initial impressions:
Function-wise, the ride is noticeably nicer, and the car feels more nimble (whether this is due to lower unsprung weight or just placebo effect is unclear

NOTE: I do have some rubbing, so far only when reversing at nearly full right lock. The point that is being rubbed is right on the lower edge of the vent behind the extra 'is' radiator in the driver's side wheel well. I am hoping some of this plastic just wears away over time and that rubbing stops, but if not I may cut or modify that wheel well liner in some way. No rubbing on the passenger's side front or anywhere on the rears. And the rubbing in the front is interesting, it will happen pretty consistently while reversing, but if I keep the steering wheel at the same angle and start driving forward, it will rub for an instant when I start moving but then stop. Maybe somehow the wheel is moving ever so slightly closer to the front when reversing?

Looks-wise I am VERY happy. I had read on some of the forums that Conti DWs ran narrower than other brands, and was a little worried. But now that they are on the car, they look really nice and beefy! They line up with the lip of the tire well too, don't look stretched at all. I actually decided on 245 instead of 235 in the front because I really wanted to avoid an over-stretched look, but seeing them now I bet it would have looked fine with the 235s. That said I am VERY happy with the 245s. All in all, extremely pleased, and got a great deal on the wheels through an Apex group buy.

I did not go into this wheel/tire hunt looking for an especially aggressive fitment, but ended up with some pretty wide tires up front (at least for a daily driver with very limited suspension mods). If there had been ARC-8s in an 8.5 that were concave (even just profile 2 vs profile 3) I would likely have done that, but I had to go 9" to get concave at all 4 corners. And I am very happy with them!
