First, I would upgrade the LPFP sensor to the revised version. You can get it on FCP for $35.00

It sounds like your Original LPFP is tired. I was in this same boat about a year ago. I just replaced my LPFP for about $175 or so. Mine reads 82-83 psi driving around and at idol. I never drops below 65psi at WOT.

Vehicular DIY does a nice job upgrading to a stage 2 pump for $150.00. However, you do not need to cut part of the bucket out and essentially or bucket-less. Going bucket-less causes problems, which are documented on this forum.

I would recommend using the kit below, which would allow the filter sock still fit into the OEM bucket and thus negate the need to alter the bottom of the bucket.
