Mate, after reading you post, I went out and checked again with my mate.
My friend drove >20 MPH over speed bump and front wheels hit wheel arches.

And that produced the sound I was referring to.
So sound was not from shocks, but wheels hitting on front arches.

If he drives <12-15MPH, then its all good.

Mart they are M sport shocks taken out of 2011 (was on 4K). Shocks were like brand new with all tags, clean and nice. Even bump stoppers were like new and had their normal yellow colour.
