Doesn’t really make sense though any bracing should strengthen both the subframe and its connection to the body. The more rigid the connection to the body the more the car as a whole will be rigid. People just putting it on because it’s an m3 part when in reality some sheet aluminum with dimples in would do the same job. Lucky for us bmw made a whole set of bracing specifically to stiffen the chassis for the e93 non m and e93 m3 including both sets of bracing are the same. It also ties in the front strut tops into the front of the subframe and extends all the way to the side sills underneath. I really cannot understand the obsession with the belly pan especially when it gets cut in half.

The stock brace only ties the rear of the subframe in and doesn’t extend to the sills.
