I agree on the oil change. I would change it after. As to other things to check I offer the following:

1. Air Pressure - both before and in between sessions
2. Torque on wheels
3. Removing all loose items from the car including floor mats
4. Check all fluids especially brake fluid
5. Check brake pads to make sure you have plenty of wear left.
6. Check your ego at the gate and have fun.
