Don't delete the DPF, the new mot rules change in May will include a smoke test, any visible smoke when they increase the revs will be a fail. Don't believe anyone who tells you it won't smoke without one it will even if it's just minor.
You can still make good power with the DPF. I mapped mine 6 months ago and looking at the ash mass with Carley it's hardly increased at all. Certainly less than it was increasing when I had a plug in box.
One thing I did do was to have the EGR mapped out, improves throttle response and keeps the inlet side clean. Not worried about the mot for that. If it causes an issue, I did a bluefin map so can revert back to standard map for the MOT of need be.
