CPO 2008 328i Coupe purchased in South Florida. I drove back to Upstate NY in early June with no issues. Ticking started in late August a few times with 21k miles on it. I found this thread and went through all the posts. I was hopeful it was a fluke. However, not driving for a few days and the ticking noise was very pronounced. I went to the SA with audio and the SB as recommended by some here that had bad experiences (3rd BMW since 1998 working with them in the service dept. - A+ to date) as a backup. They know me well in the service department, and there was no problem at all for the issue (I did not need the audio and SB during the visit). They have done some in the past and are very familiar with the issue. The parts were in stock and scheduled an appointment to install the updated parts. I will post the progress going forward. I hope this is the end to it. The SA said that it will not cause harm if not fixed, but as I own not leased, I chose to go with the fix.
