Did the vanos solenoid clean procedure with air and brake cleaner (as before) and since this was all inlet side, I swapped the solenoid positions to see if the codes moved to the exhaust/outlet side.
Car seemed much better did several miles on trip 1. Then a few more on trip 2 and it stalled once. Trip 3 4-5 miles more with no issue.
Now just pulls the 2a82 code, so still intake.
Based on this or the fact the code didn't migrate to the outlet/exhaust side, any feedback?

Have you checked the VANOS filters and oil filter cage as mentioned above?
