I’ve noticed this too. At work we’ve got a 4 or 5 year old Audi. I haven’t taken much notice of it but do know it’s a diesel A1. It really does surprise me how well it pulls, not up there with my mapped 330d but not that far off.
Then the other night I had a quick blast against a nearly new golf R and stayed with him!
The other week on the same bit of road somebody in a pretty hot car (for the life of me I can’t remember what it was) tried to get away from me between 2 roundabouts but failed 😂
As we got to the roundabout he was in the right lane to turn right but had to stop. I wondered what he must have thought as I went past when he saw a knackered old diesel had kept him honest 😂
