Thanks for your update ages944,
What do they mean "valve lifters are out of spec?" and which parts are they replacing?
After adding 1 liter of oil a week and a half ago the ticking sound went away and this morning it's back. I think this car needs a serious garage check-up next week. In the meantime hope those who have had this experience would share their advice. Thanks in advance.
