I am trying to duplicate your work but am having a hard time to put the new mirror housing.
It seems that the original housing has few ledges that stay between the windshield and the light censor and hold it in place. Did you use double sided tape on the new one? I am afraid if I use double sided tape it won't hold during the summer.
