Depends on where you live.
most places allow you to apply for a residents permit to park in your zone.
there is no issue as long as you are not too precious about keeping car undercover or away from dodgy parkers!
Move over, figure out where you are living, and buy a car.
I wouldn't bother paying for parking away from where you live, can be very pricey and you loose all the benifits of convenience when you need the car.
