E90 Hood Stuck... help??!
Not sure if this is the right sub, but figured some of you guys would be under the hood often enough to maybe help address the problem:
Pulled my car up for tech at solo last weekend and popped the hood, but it wouldn't rise. I checked the tab right above the kidneys and it seems to be recessed despite hearing a half release when I pulled the lever. The right side of the hood comes loose and will rise, but the left side remains in place.
I can lift the hood enough to sneak my fingers down to grab the tab but I don't want to twist the hood to get at it. I'm not too familiar with the mechanics of the release... is there a way I can disengage the left side hook so I can get it open and figure out what's wrong?
It's a pre-LCI e90 non-turbo - intake bits feed up by the latch. I recently dropped in a K&N but it's the stock box so I don't see how that would affect the mechanism (assuming I didn't botch the reinstall).
Any help/ ideas would be much appreciated - thanks!
