I would be happy to help in regards to tires, but to make sure I am able to give you the most accurate recommendation, I have a couple questions for you.
- Will this be a street only car, or will it be used for track days as well?
- Along the same lines of the question above, will you be using street tires, extreme summer tires, or r-compounds?
- What rear tire size do you plan on running?
235/40-18, 245/40-18 and 255/35-18 tire sizes are all commonly used with our 18x9" ET30 wheels on the front of an E9X 3 series. Deciding which is best for you depends on your priorities for the car, how you will be using the car, and which rear tire sizes you will be going with.
Height of front tire options:
225/40-18 - 25.09 (OEM front tire height)
235/40-18 - 25.4 (slightly taller)
245/40-18 - 25.72 (taller)
255/35-18 - 25.03 (just slightly shorter)
Height of rear tire options:
255/35-18 - 25.03 (OEM rear tire height)
265/35-18 - 25.3 (slightly taller)
275/35-18 - 25.58 (slightly taller)
The most common staggered configurations when utilizing our 18x9" Et30 front & 18x9.5" Et35 rear are:
235/40-18 front / 265/35-18 rear
245/40/18 front / 275/35-18 rear
255/35-18 front / 275/35-18 rear
