I thought it was the timing chain as I could hear a metallic clicking noise when the engine was running idle, (still parked on my drive unmoved) mech said it might be the fuel pressure. He suggested that I buy a new filter and heater. I bought those parts changd but still won't start. Now he says that it might be the fuel pump (after earlier dismissing it). I have ordered one awaiting delivery.
Should i just cut my losses and sell this car as the wife fears it might be a money pit. I'm also beginning to suspect the same.

It all depends on how quickly you can find the fault and how much the part is to be repaired. I'd say take it into a decent local and get it properly diagnosed and then take it from there. No point sinking so much money into a car that cost £3,000 imo.
