Totally agree on this statement. I would add it sounds like your over tightening the clamp. Even a crappy clamps dont really break if your not over tightening. Another trick is you could try some hairspray on the inside of the coupler. Let it set for 5 min so it becomes tacky and that should help.

I had mine pop off and as posted make sure you place the clamp behind the lip.
