That is correct...you want the 0W-30 Castrol (which will be labeled Euro formula or something like that) and not the 5W-30 Castrol to get a LL-01 approved oil. Actual BMW oil is 5W-30, and is indeed Castrol, but it is not anything sold in the parts stores here in the states.
