If anyone's interesting in how mapped thermostatic systems work, I found this. It's a good primer to show how the various engine load/engine speed/incoming air temp/vehicle speed combinations play into how the ECU pulses the heating element inside our thermostats. These combination values are compared to a stored map, thus explaining the term "mapped thermostat." Enjoy....
