Damn good tires. Knocked 2 seconds off my best time at Road Atlanta running the RS-3's. Day started cold, 42 degree's. We were the first run group out and right away I could tell the traction was pretty good for a cold track. My times on a cold track with ambient temps in mid-40's were almost as good as my best on the RS-3's on a perfect day. Started with 33psi all around, came off track and temps were 40psi. As the day warmed up to mid-60's I just kept bleeding off air down to 38 before session, and they would be at 40psi after session.
38-40psi seems to be a good range, at least for my car. Tires never ran up on sidewall, just barely brushing the arrows. Trail braking was better than the Hankooks, and the car would tuck in and rotate perfectly. When you approach the limits of the tire, they don't give an audible like anything I have ever run. There is a rumble you feel through the wheel and you hear it also. Takes a while to get used to. The frequency of the rumble changes as the slip angle changes. Its weird, but it works. Braking is outstanding. With the R-S3's my StopTech brakes would over power the tires getting into the ABS. I could not feel the ABS through the pedal, but the tires were chirping away and a slight wiggle. That's gone as the car never gets into ABS and I'm applying full braking deeper and with more pressure. Max G's the tires pulled was 1.18, and we shall see how they do once it gets hot.
Virtually no wear after 5-25minute sessions.
