Very pleased with the performance of my 335i steptronic sedan..

Last time I came out to LACR with my 2006 M3, my best time was around a 14 flat at 100.1mph or so. At Famosa, I got a 13.554 @ 104.14, which was actually one of the quickest stock M3 times of the day. I know that the high elevation of LACR hurts the M3 more, so this time I brought my 335i. Another 335i owner told me its best to let the engine cool off for 45 minutes before running. But I didn't want to wait, and made like 4 runs in a row. (All together I made 21 till I ran out of gas!). Surprisingly the runs were pretty good considering I went straight from finish line to the staging lanes. My best runs were a 13.465,13.470,13.598. my best trap speed was 102.459mph. Interestingly enough, later in the day my ET sucked, but I had many runs over 102mph. I had traction problems later in the day, and had to modulate the throttle more, and sometimes the car would short shift into 2nd, so maybe thats part of the reason. The car is so uneventful and easy to drive with the steptronic compared to my M3. The first time I ran against the with Turbo Tuner coupe, my car shifted into 2nd too soon, so I asked him if we could run again. I beat him to the finish line due to my quicker reaction time, but he ran a .024 second quicker ET 13.797 vs 13.773, but it was lots of fun. More impressive is I was running on a totally stock 335i, 1800 miles, and on run flats! Well, it was fun talking to everyone, including Driver 72, as we are both very technical. I won about 50% more races than I lost, and most of the loses were against modified vehicles. Fortunately my reaction often time was about 1/2 that of the other driver in many of the runs (.14 sec). I even had a .073 and .094 second reaction time on a couple runs, which is pretty decent. I also had one -.001 ! That is close! You generally get better with more experience. I was actually amazed at how slow some of the modified cars, and big AMGs were running. I know the SL55 AMG and CLS63 AMG have about 500 horse power, but my best times overlapped into their E.T. range. Of course at sea level I'm sure they are monsters. The one E39 M5 seemed to run right around 14.5 seconds at less than 100mph. I will try and list the times that I recorded, but I have to get another report done.
