I remember going back to the Marlboro, MD racetrack after not having been there since I was 16. It's been abandoned for a long time, and it was the strangest sensation looking at the collapsing grandstands, with vines all over and trees growing up through parts of the track. I immediately recognized everything, but it was totally different. It prompted many great memories, even though it was sad to see the place in ruins.
I expect that your return to the Catskills will be pretty similar--and I hope you get to make the trip soon.
