Sounds like UBlock Origin is getting a bit confused and maybe blocking the link behind the button or something, all I can say is works perfectly with no ads/popups etc if using firefox and "adblocker ultimate" add on. I do not have a 1fichier.com account, no login etc just click the link and choose download. Might be worth installing that for the duration of your downloads, couldn't be easier with that combo.
1) go to website, don't bother accepting cookies etc, choose SSL or not (do NOT choose inline download), then press 'download'
2) on next page click 'click here to download your file'
3) download starts
See attached pics of step 1,2 and 3 I just did so definitely still working fine...
