Sometimes cheap K+DCAN cables have incorrect resistors which preclude sensing of the battery and/or ignition signals. I use a one stop cable and have never had any issues. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Thanks..I successfully did some coding with NCS Expert earlier, so my cable works like a charm. I will probably pick up a one stop cable in the future, but for now mine seems to work okay. It's just getting it connected that is the trouble, once it connects, it is good to go
