Just to answer your question. I don't know if its a poser or not but... Last I heard almost every piece of the M3 was made specifically for that car. My guess is that that the bolts, body and construction would not perfectly line up and you'd have to do more work to get it on than just attach them.
As for weather or not it's a good idea??? IMO no, but its not my car.
Why not just put an M badge on your current car?
