I doubt that's a bug in the nav. When you get the unit it has a destination adress already programmed in (for demo purposes), you probably added your local address but didn't delete the one that was already in there. Once you cancel the route you will be good to go.
There are regional settings within igo primo's menus where you can set the units of measure to all kinds of options.

Ahah you were right on both jeff. I figured out this morning how to change to metric, and it's all good. And about the trip distance it was what you mentioned, everything is up and running and I'm loving it. The sound quality is amazing!
