No, it's not just a sticker. It is an enamel layer. Yes, they do come off on rare occasion. They are easy to replace, but you need to replace the entire badge (roundel). The trunk lid is the toughest to remove since it has 3m tape in addition to 2 studs with grommets holding it on.
