the file was pulled using the glovebox usb method and 319 bytes long so not sure why the extra bytes were inserted (not my CIC)

But it could have been any of script activated or emulator (100% has a emulator) or self signed certificates or perhaps my USB stick (32GB sdcard with adaptor)

yep i noticed the 00s inserted at the end

it worked though updating the maps to 2018-1 via the same 32GB SD card using the generated lifetime code. thanks for this
