I just applied
COVEX film, which is a perforated film, to my head, fog and rear lights. Depending on the viewing angle and light conditions it can look very dark. Allegedly MOT compliant. It has no effect on the light shape and colour. The drop in light output is noticeable, but not significant. The manufacture states ~ 80%.
