Rant time: I do find it comical that most Harley riders are men in their 50's and 60's, that dress up in a sense to ride. Monday through Friday, they don't dress like this, but they do when their other Harley riding buddies are around. It's the same mentality that women don't dress up for their man, they dress up to impress other women....but for motorcycle guys.

I see them all the time. The difference is I never thought to look at it the way you do. To me, they are just out there having a good time.
We all have costumes of one kind or another. Sometimes our costumes are even our fancy cars. Maybe that's why many people think BMW drivers are ass hats!
