I think he caught a bit more hate than he probably should for that question, but whatever. It's just a shift knob, it'll still look like an automatic, and the truth is that despite manuals being more "pure" and desirable in many cases, there's nothing to be ashamed about having an auto. The auto shift knob is a bit cheap feeling anyway.
Yeah the "kids" (I say this as if I'm not a "kid") ruining these cars is a good point, and it's becoming somewhat common to see e90s run down to absolute shit, but I don't think it takes away from the efforts that people like me, and many of you others, put into maintaining these excellent cars... "clean" e90s still stand out just like they did off the showroom floor, regardless of what the others look like. I too am afraid of someone hitting mine, I feel as if I may not find another that's the same.
