Possible idea, only problem would be the exhaust moves up and down with bumps on the road and the rubber wedge may fall out. Or rubber wedge may get hot and melt causing that constant rubber burning smell!
But main problem is the drive shaft is spinning as the wheels spin, so a wedge would still hit the drive shaft
