DMF needs replacing.....
I have just got a 2006 320d touring. It didn't cost me a lot but I am still not pleased to have detected a rattle when changing gear plus clutch judder when hot.
So I am assuming it is going to need a new clutch plus DMF.
I'll be doing it myself so any advice before I dive in?
Should I be ordering anything other than a DMF, clutch kit and exhaust gaskets?
Also, (bear in mind I am new to BMWs) is there any way of telling which paticular DMF I need (there appear to be a lot of part numbers) other than pulling the old one out before buying the new one?
Lastly, anyone gone to a solid flywheel? If so, any downsides? (eg rougher changes etc?)
Oh, and how heavy is the gearbox? Is it a one man lift on my back on my drive or will I need to get help?
I think that is all the questions for the moment but I am sure there will be more ;-)
