Did you ever replace the 335? Changing brake pads at 50k miles isn't an 'issue'. You should have know what the symbol meant and not freaked ;-)
Coolant problems are a whole different issue! I've got 500k miles on 2 BMWs and have replaced every hose and plastic piece at least twice. I haven't found a car that I like driving better yet, so I'm stuck fixing leaks every 70k miles ;-)
