What's pictured above is the Foam Gun. Foam Cannon however is used together with a pressure washer.
The point is, Foam Cannon produces thick, sticky foam that is supposed to dwell on the car's paint for a bit and in the process it is supposed to release stuck on dirt, so it doesn't later get caught in the wash mitt and cause swirl marks. That's the idea, right.
Foam Gun, on the other hand does not have the same properties but it serve as an excellent lubricant while washing the car with a wash mitt.
Both require a decent amount of soap.
The main point, when washing a car, is LUBRICATION. Use a two-bucket method with grit guards and a MF towel or wash mitt.
