This thread has been extremely useful in providing information on how to fix this matter.

Just had a quick question re: Y cables. I see that the Y cable Part #61122287642 has been recommended by many in the thread (http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/ind...&siteid=214672). However, I've seen an alternative on eBay, which is being advertised as an OEM cable as well (http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-BMW-Conn...3D231154337707).

My question is whether anyone has had experience with using the eBay equivalent, or if the getbmwparts cable is the way to go. If this is the case, is there a website which sells this cable and does international shipping? Maybe even more useful, if anyone in NZ has a domestic source to order from. I will talk to the dealer who sold me the vehicle for any info that they may have but thought I would ask around the forum first before turning there.

Cheers
That is NOT and OEM cable. At best false advertising. At worse, a crap cable.
