alright i've figured it out...
for all non idrive cars the mp3 cds work but only if they are mp3's
if you download off of itunes at all...they use mp4's which don't play
on the cd player
therefore if making a cd for your 3 series make sure all the songs are mp3, if not use some kinda software to convert them to mp3
hope this helps anyone having issues
