What most people ignore is when you are actually driving the car vs the daytime high. Most people who commute to work drive between 630 and 830 am and return home in darkness at 6pm or later.
The daytime high of 9c does not mean a hill of beans when you leave the house at 7am and the temp is 1c and there is frost on the ground. Have fun stopping at a stop sign with performance summers on when this is the case. Had it happen to me once and never again. Almost rear-ended a guy given the summers had absolutley no traction at that temperature.
