Figures, it will probably rain Thursday afternoon.
Sunday was a perfect day for a detail session... I spent 5 hours on the paint with just enough time to finish the following:
- Wash using Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Clear
- Wheels, wells and brakes cleaned and degreased using P21S
- Clayed the surface using Pinnacle Clay
- Artifact removal using Showroom FX Swirl Eliminator and an orange pad
- Polish using Chemical Guys Extreme EZ-Creme Glaze with a black pad
- Sealed using Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 with a blue pad
- Sealed the wheels using Jetseal 109
- Topped the paint with Showroom FX "Crystal Black" Carnauba Creme
- Added a light-gloss detail to the underhood plastics and tires using Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care
I really could have used 3 more hours of daylight but I'm glad I got it done. The Carnauba topper is really intended for dark-colored cars and would look awesome on black but I wanted to try it and just see how it looked on white.
Summary:
I love Alpine White again!
I'm somewhat open to the idea of doing a group detail session sometime if we can find an area with good shade, power, water and beer. It's a lot of work and I'm starting to think I should look into some Asian massage service after all that bending, stooping, standing and polishing.
