It's really not that bad. Mine looks brand new now but looked horribly used before. I'm usually one to be really knit picky about how something as high contact as the steering wheel feels, but honestly unless you want to spend as much as it would cost to literally replace the leather itself on the wheel, this is the next best thing.

And yeah a small leather cover isn't going to hold in any heat. You'll feel it like normal.
