He emailed with some update on recent maintenance and upcoming maintenance. Says no issues with fuel pump and had not heard of any problem:
The right front tire and the right rear tire were both replaced on 3-12-12. The left rear tire was replaced on 6-20-12. The battery was replaced on 10-20-12. Next maintenance for oil, air filter and brake fluid change is December. Other maintenance items are well down the road... rear brake pads in 6K more miles, front brake pads at 15K more miles, spark plugs at 15K more miles, and vehicle check on 12-20-13.
