You're going to have to do a lot of research on how to get a back up cam to display on your iDrive. You'll need an interface module between them and will need to do some wiring.
No offense, but the fact that you didn't even know that a car's electrical system is 12v leads me to believe this is way over your head. It's cool if you want to learn, but it won't be nearly as easy as you may think.
