the other option is of course a cheap dcan cable + adapter. For just coding, it doesn't have to be special - but if you ever want to flash a module, you'll want their cable anyway.

How do you like the pro tool? Is it reliable and what cable do you recommend. I have the Schwaben scanner but I'd like to play arounf with some basic coding.
