I am having similar problem. My ticking noise isn’t very loud, the hood almost drowns it out. Also, it is faster and increase speeed in short bursts. It sounds like a belt, but I could be wrong. I just bought the car and didn’t hear any such noise during the test drive. Also, the service engine soon light came on, but the code reader says it was just 02 sensor.
