Given that I have never added any oil to an F28 Xdrive 28i or an E71 X6M between oil changes...I have been surprised to say the least. The quoted consumption is about 1qt per 750/850 miles...With regard to the ///M...that must be when the things are flogged at the track. I don't see it.
Especially given that our N52 was/is a regular consumer.
