when you shift slowly you are allowing time for your RPM's to drop below what next gear needs. you dont need to shift super fast forcing the gear in, but if you are too slow you will get some jerking. find somewhere in between. no need to blip gas or anything, just find the right speed for shifting. always watch your RPM's to see how they drop and so forth so it gives u a better feel of what your car is doing
