I'm quite happy with both sets of 18" VMRs I use on my E92 and E46. They've held up better than the OEM 17s on my E92. Hell, even my $110/apiece Bremmer Kraft 18s (snows) have held up through a few potholed winters up here better than those style 185s. But my tire sidewalls re all twice as tall as the one pictured...
I've been on E46 and E9x forums for years where VMR reps are extremely popular. If they were "absolute trash" I don't think they'd be so commonplace in these enthusiast communities. My 2c.
