I found that cotton balls were taking a long time to get some of the larger excess globs of betalink off, that's why I went to a betalink solvent soaked rag. It would have been fine if I'd used a good quality towel, but that was my mistake. You're right in that with enough patience, the cotton balls would have been fine.
