+1 for eagle one wadding polish. Just don't let your SO try it on her copper bottomed pots and pans, or you'll have to buy a new tin.
Edit: since I just ran my car through the car wash this morning (yeah, I know, it really needs a detail but I don't have the time... just cleaning up little bits and pieces as I can) this thread made me go out and polish my exhaust tips... much better!
Question: it appears that the rolled edge of my tips was painted black. (335i, non-S) was that factory? Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, just curious. I originally thought that it was exhaust carbon so I started wiping it with acetone, it's still about half there. Not sure if I should strip it all off or touch it up, and that's more of a "which do I think will look better" kind of decision.
