To reinforce my theory that all the buttons have been stored to EEPROM for extensibility reasons I believe
11 is the number or unique buttons for multifunction steering wheel by year 2006. Correct me if you know more buttons for 2006 e90.

I'm about to facilitate test points for
all the busses to glovebox and see the messages myself. It's not particulary for this purpose, but when it's done it should be easy to see stuff quickly.
I could maybe play with the loose piece SZL if somebody have ideas. I have K+DCAN and CANUSB too. Wonder if K+DCAN could be used to do something even when in car it is "isolated" behind DSC.
Edit: Does anyone have dispensable multifunction buttons laying around for tear-down and reverse purposes?
